DETERMINATION

"LPS has prepared me to remain determined to achieve absolute success and continue to challenge myself…"- Lyniece Catalan

The Beginning

LPS-Hayward was founded in August 2005 with the mission of sending 100% of its graduates to college. The first new high school in Hayward in nearly fifty years, LPS now serves students in grades 9 -12 offering a full high school curriculum. LPS-Hayward boasts a true diversity that creates a rich learning environment on our campus. Our students represent a wide variety of backgrounds, cultures, colors, and religions. As the campus has grown from the initial 90 students to over 400, it has been remarkable to see how the students of LPS Hayward have achieved success. LPS-Hayward is now the highest performing high school in Hayward and San Leandro and was ranked the highest performing school in the state among its similar schools group in 2008.  LPS Hayward achieved a similar school score of 10 out of 10 by the California Department of Education in 2008.

The Future

LPS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and has received the support of the Hayward Unified School District with a ten year facility agreement and a recently completed addition to the campus.  The school continues to attract outstanding faculty members from throughout the United Stated and even internationally.  There is currently a waiting list of over one hundred students seeking admission to the school on an annual basis. The strong partnership of parents, students, teachers, and the community is the foundation of the schools success and pushes LPS to strive for even greater heights.
