ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Tutoring Begins Today, September 6! Schedules will be given assignments today in Advisory.
  • ATTN Students without Tutoring: Campus (including basketball court) is off limits to you during tutoring, you must leave campus after Block 5. If you have sports practice or any other reason you you may return after the dismissal bell rings at 3:45pm. If you're caught on campus during tutoring, you will serve lunch detention the next day.

  • Lost & Found Items in the Main Office: If you find something on campus that doesn't belong to you, please turn it into Ms. Rivera. If you've lost something like an article of clothing, jewelry, keys, lunch box, or anything else, please come by the office before, after school or during break or lunch to check if it's been found. We love reconnecting owners with their lost items!

  • Ms. Abeles wants to shout out block 5 English for 2 weeks of 100% homework completion.  Your commitment is impressive!

  • Seniors and Juniors: If you borrowed a book from Ms. Abeles for Independent Reading last year, please return it this week.  It takes a lot of effort to put together a library of books students will want to read, so bring them back.

  • 2010-11 Biology Mendelian Society members- Stop by McCabe's room during lunch on Friday to pick up your new shades.  

  • All absences, including partial days, and tardies require a note to be excused. Remember to drop notes off to Ms. Rivera when you return to school.  Dress code violations are not excusable.

  • ATTENTION NEW STUDENTS! If you have not created a meal account with your thumb print, you must do so prior to purchasing a meal. You may see Ms. Aguilar in the main office after school in order to do so.

  • ATTENTION STUDENT DRIVERS! The staff parking lot is off limits to students. Students parked there will be TOWED AT YOUR EXPENSE!

  • LPS Hayward us a CLOSED campus! Students are not allowed outside the school gates during school hours; including break and lunch.

  • College Resource Center: Come to the College Resource Center in K1 during lunch on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays to research colleges, get brochures, meet with college representatives,  and get your questions answered.

IMPORTANT DATES

COMMUNITY SERVICE

  • Students need 35 hours per year to graduate and parents need 20 hours per year. Parent hours must be completed on campus, whereas students may volunteer in the community at large.


SPORTS

  • Girl’s Soccer: Interested in Lady Royals Soccer? If you are serious about being on our championship team, you will join Cross Country or play another sport to keep your bodies healthy and your competitive streak alive. Talk to Mr. McCaffrey in A-6 if you are interested in playing…
  • Boys Soccer: Thursday September 15th AT Athenian game time is 4:00pm.

CLUBS

  • The Soccer/Running Club's Mtg. for today is cancelled and will be on Thursday, September 8 at 12:25 (lunch) in Mr. McCaffrey's classroom.
  • Like strategies or collectible card games, the LPS TCG Club will have its first meeting TODAY at LUNCH. All players are welcome.



Seniors
 

Remember to check your emails weekly!

  • Seniors Sunrise Ceremony: This Friday we will be having our first ever Senior Sunrise Ceremony. The event will take place on the basketball courts here at school starting at 6:30am. This ceremony is intended to bring seniors together as a class and mark the start of your last year in high school. Please bring blankets and warm clothes. You can come in free dress ONLY if the school earns free dress. We are looking for people to donate hot chocolate, bagels, doughnuts, juice, and other breakfast snacks. You can earn community service hours for donating to this event. If you have any questions see Mr. Maestas. We hope to see you this Friday, Sept 9th at 6:30am.

  • SAT/ACT Registration:  The SAT registration deadline is  this Friday, September 9th for the October 1st test date. The ACT registration deadline is September 16 for the October 22nd test.  You can pick up fee waivers from Ms. Decker or Dr. Aguilar

  • U Penn: The University of Pennsylvania will be holding an informational session on their school on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the Hilton in San Francisco. Interested students can RSVP at www.admissions.upenn.edu/events/sanfrancisco

  • Sister Colleges:

    The Sisters Colleges: Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Smith and Wellesley Colleges are holding an informational session for students and parents on: Sunday, September 11  from 2-4 PM  at Berkeley High School (1980 Allston Way  Berkeley, CA ).RSVP at www.thesistercolleges.org

  • Apply to attend an overnight trip to visit a university!: Please refer to your email for the application.
