LEADERSHIP RETREAT

Each year all incoming freshmen are invited to Stanford University for a tuition-free, three-day leadership retreat exposing them to the LPS “college-going” culture.

Our students live by a code that represents what is best about our school:

We are the present;

We are the scholars that scholars admire;

We are the leaders that leaders emulate;

We shatter all obstacles with unwavering commitment;

We are the paragons of respect;

We are the future.

Student Life
Besides a rewarding academic experience, LPS Hayward students enjoy a positive social experience. Student government runs a variety of dances and lunch time activities.  Students compete in competitions, have class challenges, and experience the regular social elements of a high school.  Each year includes an epic college tour throughout the state of California for Sophomore students as well as visits to colleges throughout the Bay Area for all students.  Students participate in sports including varsity teams in: basketball, baseball, softball, and soccer.  The school hosts a variety of clubs, yearbook, Prom, and many other social activities.

College for Everyone
Every student at LPS Hayward is on track for college.  To graduate from LPS, students are required to complete the A-G course requirements for admission to a UC or CSU college.  The approach of A-G for everyone, as well as open enrollment in AP courses, leads to a strong academic program that supports  the LPS college-going culture.
