“Every student by name and need”: academic support to help students become prepared to succeed in college
Each student at LPS Richmond is guided by a personalized learning plan that supports the rigorous college preparatory curriculum. LPS teachers and staff conduct frequent reviews of student performance to ensure that the students have access to after-school tutoring and literacy support classes. In addition, LPS offers specialized support classes for English Learners and struggling readers. Finally, the LPS class size, which is 15-20% smaller than a typical high school, continues to provide a level of support not usually available to high school students in
